Ellie with Anna and Kelly at Brighton, Beach |
This week was a more social week than any other. We got a our new neighbors from the US - a really sweet family from Ohio with two girls our kids' ages. Of course Ellie is thrilled and scooped them up as her own. The 3 girls are having a ball everyday, going to the "dairy" for candy, building a fort at the top of the steepest st in the world and of course rocking the scary rope swing as well.
We also had a blast over the weekend at the beach. Perfect weather and waves.

We also had our friend Maarten from Holland come stay with us for the week. We met Maarten on the Abel Tasman Track, and had only visited with him for an about an hour before he came to Dunedin. He is 24 and has a spark of joyful youthfulness that is infectiours. It was nice for me to have a "kindred spirit" to hang-out with. Maarten is a school teacher back in Holland, and as a result is wonderful with kids. We were all sad to see him go. Below are photos from our evening excursion to Sandfly Beach. This place never disappoints us with amazing interactions with massive Sea Lions and tiny penguins.
