McLeod Peak, Rattlesnake Wilderness
Looking toward the Missions |
We started at 8am for a 2.5 hour mountain bike ride up the corridor to the wilderness boundary. From there we stashed out bikes and began the trek up toward the peak. Not too much bush-waking. The top was amazing with views of the Missions and Swan ranges. I was impressed with how much snow was still back there too.
Glacier Trifecta (Piegan, Pollock, Bishops Cap)
Beginning the day early.......
The Trifecta is a peak-baggin trip that I have been wanting to do all summer.
I knew that it involved 3 peaks in the park, but I wasn't sure how to link Piegan, Pollock and Bishops Cap. Luckily, Monica and I were hanging with the Rocky Mountaineers, so we talked them into it Saturday night over a lot of beer. Everyone was a bit hung over in the morning, but it did not slow the group down. It was fairly smokey from the 2017 Glacier fires over by Sperry Chalet, but we still got some rad views.
My favorite part was the chimney climb, I love tight spaces that are a little scary and force me to breath through it.
Awesome day, highly recommend!
